Start a New Career in the Medical Field with the Blue Valley Lutheran Homes Nurse Aide Training Program

Imagine a job that rewards you for caring about others…that is exciting and challenging…a job where you make a difference. Whether you’re just starting your career or ready for a change, now is the time to consider becoming a Nurse Aide (CNA).

As a Nursing Assistant, you will be an important part of today’s world of health care, with knowledge and skills that are always in demand. The Blue Valley Lutheran Homes (BVLH) Nurse Aide Training Program prepares individuals with the information and the experience needed to become a Nurse Aide who will provide quality care for residents in our long-term care facilities.

Students learn in a hands-on environment under the eyes of caring and professional nurses.  They are taught the art of compassionate care for people in the long-term care system.  Through lecture, DVDs, role-playing, and clinical practice, students learn procedural skills such as vital signs, bathing, dressing and positioning. The classroom is equipped with nursing beds and medical equipment to practice skills prior to the clinical rotation. Graduates of the BVLH CNA program are well prepared for the requirements to pass the state test.

Classes will begin on July 20, 2015 and will meet on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm for five weeks.  Two Saturday classes will be scheduled after the classes begin.  Anyone interested in the program must be at least 16 years of age.

Contact BVLH Kelli in Human Resources at 402.768.3615 or email her at kellid@bvlh.org.  Class participants must sign up ahead of time and need to fill out an application before being accepted into the class.
